Invitation to Bid (ITB)
VTA Project #2018-05
The Martha’s Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA) is requesting proposals from qualified and responsible firms to provide routine services and on-call non-routine for ELECTRICAL repairs at its various locations owned and/or operated by VTA. The VTA is embarking on an ambitious project to electrify its transit fleet and fuel the fleet with renewable energy generated and stored on-site. The VTA is entering into a contract with a private solar provider to install solar canopies over the parking lot at the VTA maintenance facility. The solar panels will feed the grid and send energy to the energy storage system (ESS). The ESS unit can be charged by solar and / or at night when electricity prices are lowest. This integrated energy system gives the VTA flexibility in how much it pays for energy and resiliency in where it accesses its energy.
An agreement with a private sector solar installer is expected by spring 2018.
The VTA’s electrical design for bus charging is complete. Six electric buses were ordered in 2017 and will be delivered in June 2018. The first phase of electrical work will be located at 11 A Street, must be completed by May 31, 2018.
A complete bid package is available online at www.vineyardtransit.com or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Bids are due no later than 12 noon on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Proposals received after that date
and time will be rejected and will not be considered.
All proposers must certify that they are not ineligible contractors listed on the US Comptroller General's debarred bidders list. The VTA hereby notifies all proposers that it will affirmatively ensure that Disadvantaged and Women's Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation.
The VTA reserves the right to postpone, accept, or reject any and all proposals and to waive any informality in the ITB process as the VTA deems to be in its best interest.
